News about the World's Biggest Pub Quiz

On 25 March 2010, commuters travelling on First Great Western high speed trains from 4pm will be able to take part in the World’s Biggest Pub Quiz.

For those travelling on First Great Western high speed trains, the services will be running mini-quizzes which will be available from buffet cars and trolleys. The mini-quiz gives commuters to opportunity to win some great prizes including a Mediterranean cruise from Norwegian Cruise Line.

John McDonald, the director of the Family Holiday Association said: “First Great Western has been among the most important supporters of the charity and has provided hundreds of families with free rail travel to the seaside for some much-needed fresh air, fun and relaxation. So we’re delighted that they are also partners on this great fundraising campaign”.

Lesley Colman, First Great Western’s Customer & Stakeholder Liaison Manager said: “Everybody loves a pub quiz, so we’re delighted to be giving our customers who are travelling that night a taste of the World’s Biggest Pub Quiz. At the same time it enables us to support the work of the Family Holiday Association which does so much to help families going through tough times”.

The on-train quiz was launched by James Redmond, star of Casualty and Hollyoaks. As a native of Bristol, James is a regular customer on First Great Western trains, and will also be acting as a quiz master at a central London pub on 25 March.
