News about the World's Biggest Pub Quiz

Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Save the Pub Group, Greg Mulholland MP and multi award-winning broadcaster Mike Read launched the World’s Biggest Pub Quiz at the Red Lion pub in Parliament Street in London yesterday.

At the launch Greg spoke of the importance of the British pub, and went on to describe the World’s Biggest Pub Quiz as a “little piece of genius” for helping to highlight all the philanthropic work pubs are involved with in their communities.

Family Holiday Association director John McDonald spoke of the success of the 2010 World's Biggest Pub Quiz, and how he hopes the charity will be able to build on the achievements of last year’s event to make 2011 even more of a success.

He added: "I am delighted to say that last year the Family Holiday Association was able to help over 2,000 severely disadvantaged families get a break away from home and we hope to be able to increase that number this year. All funds raised by the World’s Biggest Pub Quiz will help the charity achieve this goal"
