Get your workplace involved

A pub quiz is an ideal way to socialise with your workmates. There’s lots of possibilities:

If you work for a large company you might like to settle some friendly rivalries with other departments. Imagine Human Resources pitting their wits against Accounts. But maybe the day will be won by the outsiders from Estates. In our experience IT are the people to watch, but who knows? It’s all about team-building, but without the need to assemble a raft out of bits of ply-wood and string on a rainy hill-side in the lake district. What’s not to like?

See your colleagues in a different setting. Involve friends and family. I bet you often wondered what your boss’s husband looked like. And is it true that Enid from reception would knock the socks off the regular team-members on Question of Sport? There’s only one way to find out.

Involve your customers, and the local community generally. It’s got to be good for business, and the community. And if you’re doing that you might like to ask some local businesses to donate prizes. We all know that it’s all in fun, but the chance to win a night out in the best curry house in town, or some vouchers for the posh spa round the corner can only add to the enjoyment.

The main thing is, though, to make it work for you. Whether it’s team building, relaxing with colleagues, or building relationships with your friends and neighbours, you can get something special out of The Big Pub Quiz Challenge. And you’ll be giving children the priceless gift of happy memories at the same time. Have a look at the organiser guide to see how easy it is to make October 2012 a month to remember.

Does the boss need more convincing? Here's the serious stuff:
